Mother's Day Gift Guide

Lemon Pajama Set

These may just be the cutest pajamas ever, and right now they are currently 40% off with the code FRIENDS!

Travel Tote

I love everything about this tote and I think it would make the perfect Mother's Day gift!  And what would make it even better would be to include some really fun travel plans inside of it!

Classic Chain Necklace Set

This is such a good necklace set and I have NEVER been let down by Madewell jewelry.  Now, if you're looking for something a little more personal then you need to check out this necklace

My girl, Cristin Cooper swears by this tumbler and I trust everything she says!!

I have the air fryer, the toaster, and the kettle by this brand in the white icing color.  I have been completely blown away with each and every product of hers!!  I have a feeling I would use this blender a lot, and I wouldn't mind having it on my counter either!

This candle is a little on the pricey side, but man, there is no better smelling candle that diptyque!

I am pretty sure Hearth and Hand can do no wrong, and these would be perfect for entertaining or for homemade family pizza nights!!

I have been searching high and low for a really good Yeti tote and I think I may have finally found 'her'! Or, if you would like to call it a 'him', it also comes in a lot of manly colors as well ;)

How gorgeous are these planters?!?!  I love that they look like a woven rope, but they are actually cement!  They come in four different sizes as well, just fyi!

Current Weight Loss...Depression, Anxiety, and Diet

Okay, I have been putting this post off for long enough.  You guys have been SO SWEET with all of your messages, and I would be lying my butt off if I said they didn't make me feel really good.  One of the main things I've always tried to do on this blog (and in real life) is be completely honest, and before I started the blog I was definitely an open book.  I was overly honest, and sometimes probably shared a little too much.  Looking back, I wouldn't change a thing and I would be the be the exact same way because being honest and vulnerable is what I believe real connection and life are all about.

One of the main reasons I've been putting this post off is because I have felt some shame and possibly even a little fraudulent writing a post about my weight loss.  I say that because I feel like the majority of the weight loss hasn't come from exercising, eating super healthy, and being honest I didn't plan to blog about it.  And when I look back at that statement, I think for most of us, life isn't a fairytale and it's far from perfect or what most of us would consider blog worthy.  Either way, I want to be open about things, especially when you all have been asking about the weight loss.

So, I've never tried to keep it a secret, as far as my struggles with anxiety, depression, and ADHD.  I have had all the symptoms of ADHD and anxiety since childhood with the exception of depression. That seemed to come after Carson's birth over 13 years ago.  Either way, I have sought out treatment and have been treated for all of the above for pretty much my entire adult life and over the past year my anxiety and depression just hit an all time high.

There is a lot going on in my life that is bringing on a lot of stress and anxiety right now.  I wish I could discuss it all in as much detail as possible, but I just can't at this time so I hope you all can be understanding.  I know one of biggest things that is weighing me down and stressing me out is the fact that we're in the middle of a lawsuit regarding our house and have no clue whatsoever when it may be over!!!  I had no idea how lawsuits worked when it comes to your home, but clearly they take a very long time.

That said, for the past four months or so I have not felt very hungry, but I knew I had to eat or that would only make everything worse mentally.  I am normally a stress / depression eater, so this is new to me and at some point I decided to take the well learned advice from my past, as far as healthy weight loss and apply that to my much smaller appetite.

I really did plan to take pictures and try to document everything I've been eating, but life has been so busy (especially with a toddler) that I just couldn't make it happen the way I wanted.  Luckily, most of the meals I've been cooking and eating are things I ate in the past when I was working out and eating really healthy so I'm just going to share those with you for now.

And if you're interested,  I've actually been taking pictures of my meals and snacks this past week and I can do another post with exactly what I've been eating.  Y'all just let me know in the comments or on Instagram if this is something you want me to do another post on.

This is the perfect white top to have as a summer staple in your closet! It can be dressed up or down, and would look super cute with jeans or shorts!

Color Block Maxi Dress

I have never met a color block dress I didn't love, but the ruffle sleeves and neckline I am really loving on this one!!

High Waisted White Jean Shorts

I was hoping they would have these at our local Express so I could tell you guys a little more about how they fit, but I ordered them in the size 2, and will report back once they arrive! And added bonus they are currently buy one get one 50% on online

This dress reminds me so much of the designer brand Milly, but the price tag is obviously WAY less!

Embroidered Clip Dot Maxi Dress

Old Navy is knocking it out of the park again with all their new arrivals!!

Wide Leg Jumpsuit with Pockets

I actually just ordered this little beauty yesterday, and will be arriving tomorrow! I am hoping it looks as cute in person as it does on the model! I love a good jumpsuit, especially one with pockets!

This and That

It's been a little while since I've done a this and that post, so here's a current brain dump and a little of what we've been up to!

// I am so excited to take the kids to the Boone Hall strawberry festival tomorrow!! I am pretty sure we are just going to take Tay and Carson, because they have a lot of bigger rides this year that Reese wouldn't be able to ride. And fingers crossed there will still be strawberries to pick, I think the cold messed up a lot of the berries this year, but hopefully the sun and warm weather are bringing some of them back!

// I am pretty sure this dog thinks that he is a human. This is how I walked into the kitchen to find him this morning... Oh Bandit thank you for keeping us all laughing!

// If you get one maxi dress this summer let it be this one. I now have it in three prints, and I am about to order a fourth, it's that good!

// It's pretty much a nightly routine now that Todd and Taylor go "bullfrog catching" It's truly the cutest thing ever watching these two together, and the stories they have when they come back are the best!! And even though we do let her bring them home for one night, she knows she has to let them go the next morning! I'll have to show you guys on Instastories the different homes she has set up for them on our porch and in our backyard!

// Today is the last day of the Shopbop sale!!! I never go crazy with this sale because a lot of brands Shopbop carries are out of my price range, and even with the discount it still doesn't seem worth it! But there are a few brands and staple items that I like to grab while this sale is going on! And I didn't place my order until a few hours ago, so I can't report on fit yet, but I will when everything arrives!

Last Minute Easter Basket Fillers

UPF 50+ Ruffle Butt Stripe Swimsuits

I am DYING at how adorable this swimsuit is, and I absolutely LOVE this brand!!! And best part it comes in Reese's size and Taylor's as well!

Wooden Magnet Painting Craft

I am always looking for magnets to hang the girls awards and artwork, so not only will we have more magnets, this will also gives the girls something fun to craft... hopefully together :)

27 Pack Bubble Wands

Reese is at the age where she LOVES bubbles, but it is still a little hard for her to get the bigger wands in and out of the long tubes. So, I am thinking she is going to LOVE these!!

77 Piece Fishing Lure Kit

I was shocked at how amazing the reviews were for this big set of lures, but Carson loves to fish and goes through them like crazy, so I know he's going to love this!

Charm Bracelet Making Kit

Taylor just bought this with "her Christmas money" and you guys I was so surprised at how freaking nice everything was in the set!! I can not recommend this enough, and it's such a great gift for a huge age range!

20 Piece Paint Brush Set

I have actually bought this exact set for Taylor, and they are amazing brushes especially for the price! And because we are now at the age of "I must have everything sissy has" I currently have another set on the way to me!

The Ultimate Skip Ball Set

If you know then you know about these skip balls... not sure who's more excited about these coming in, Todd or Carson! And this is such a great price for two skipping balls and a skipping disk!

 Indoor/Outdoor Critter Barn

I am pretty sure I have told you guys about Taylor's obsession with frogs and lizards, and right now we have random buckets galore with makeshift lids outside! So I am hoping this will not only keep things cleaner outside, but also be a better place for her "pets" to live :)

Kids Beach and Sand Playset

Ages almost 10 and 2 and surprisingly both girls still love the sandbox. Taylor is way more into making detailed sand cakes, and Reese just like smashing them, so I thought this set would be fun for both ha! But the price is so good and I can't be sure they will want to share all the pieces so I am going on the safe side and ordering two of them!!

Spring Grilling... Ribeye Cheesesteak Recipe

Spring weather has officially arrived, and everyone in the Hewitt house is very happy about this!! Bring on all the evening grilling and dinner on the patio! As you all know Walmart+ is my weekly go-to for all of our fresh/quality groceries, and you can't beat the convenience of having everything arrive at your door with free with same day delivery at the same low prices as in store ($35 order minimum. Restrictions apply.)

I was able to grab all of our favorites for the grill online with Walmart+ including the best bbq sauce, and the best uncured beef franks. Seriously if you haven't tried the Great Value brand franks then order these now, along with these pickles!  Mango Habanero and Maple Bourbon are our two favorites, but we haven't tried the Thai chili ones yet!

And grilling outdoors just got even more exciting with our new Blackstone griddle! As you can see I fell down the Blackstone accessory rabbit hole while placing our grocery order a few weeks back ha!

Todd is obsessed with this griddle, but I am not complaining because every thing he has cooked on here has turned out amazing, plus my kitchen gets to stay clean! He came home on his lunch break last week and grilled up the best cheesesteaks I've ever had, so I knew I needed to share the recipe with you all. I am pretty sure most of the flavorful glory goes to this cheesesteak seasoning

*And I just wanted to add that we just used one green bell pepper, and we skipped the cheese whiz, and it was still mouthwatering delicious!

  • 2 Lb. of Thinly Sliced Beef (Rib-Eye Roast, Sirloin, Tri-Tip Roast, Rump Roast, or Flank Steak)
  • 1 Onion, Sliced
  • 1 Green Pepper, Sliced
  • 1 Red Pepper, Sliced
  • 1 Teaspoon of Garlic Powder
  • 2 Tablespoons of Butter
  • Salt & Fresh Ground Black Pepper to Taste
  • 3 Tablespoons of Red Wine Vinegar (or apple cider vinegar)
  • 12-18 Slices of Provolone Cheese
  • 1 Jar of Cheese Whiz
  • 6 Hoagie Rolls

  1. Preheat the griddle to medium high heat.

  2. Add 1 tablespoon of butter and some oil to the griddle.

  3. Add the onions, green peppers, and red peppers to the hot griddle.

  4. Season with salt, pepper, vinegar, and a ½ tsp of garlic powder. Toss to combine and coat evenly.

  5. Add another tablespoon of butter and some oil to the other side of the griddle.

  6. Add the thinly sliced beef to the griddle. Chop it up with your metal spatulas to help it all cook evenly. Season the meat with salt, pepper, and another ½ tsp of garlic powder.

  7. When the meat is cooked, divide it evenly on the griddle into 6 piles.

  8. Turn the heat down to medium.

  9. Add a few tablespoons of Cheese Whiz to each pile of meat, then add the veggies to each pile.

  10. Add 2-3 slices of provolone cheese to each pile of meat and veggies.

  11. Split your hoagie rolls and toast them on the griddle.

  12. When the provolone cheese is melted, place each pile of meat into a toasted hoagie roll and serve hot.

So friends if you haven't signed up for Walmart+ yet, then now is the perfect time! Grocery shopping in the summer with three kids at home isn't happening around here, and I have a feeling a I may be placing multiple orders a week instead of just one!  Also, you can shop everything seen above by clicking on the photos below!

Thank you Walmart* for partnering on this post.

Old Navy Spring Try-on

I haven't been into Old Navy in FOREVER, and you guys I was seriously blown away at the cuteness and the quality of all their new spring arrivals.

Also, currently for the next for the next four days they're are having a huge sale with 50% off of everything!!

Crinkle Crepe Maxi Swing Dress

This dress feels like it cost $200, seriously the quality on this one is amazing!! And I really love the black, but the light blue color is even prettier in my opinion! But, they didn't have my size in store, so I ordered it online! It runs really big so size down, I have it on below in the xs, and still have plenty of room in it.

This dress is super flattering on, and while I love the gingham, online it comes in the cutest stripes! It's the same stripe print you can see in the tank a few pictures down. And this dress runs tts and for reference I am wearing it in the size xs.

This dress is adorable and I have it on in the size small. It does run big though, so the fit isn't the best in this picture. They didn't have the xs in the store but they have it online, but now to decided the white or the pink?!?!

I loved this top and these shorts, but the top runs big and it is a bit boxy just fyi! Shorts run pretty tts but just fyi I have them on in the size 4 and they were too big in the waist, but the size 2 fit in the waist, and were just too short for my liking.

Tie Shoulder Stripe Swing Blouse // High-Waisted Slouchy Cutoff Denim

This is one of the cutest stripe prints ever, and the quality is really good on this one too! It runs tts and for reference I am wearing it in the xs.

This shirt was cute but a little too boxy for my body type, I think could look good on someone a little taller. And these shorts I loved, the length was short without being too short if that makes sense. For sizing reference they run tts and I am wearing them in a size 2.

This dress runs tts everywhere except the chest area, it's slight snug there. It was doubled lined, so it's not see through at all! If you have a bigger bust I would go up one size.

And here are just a few more things that I am loving that really caught my eye while I was browsing online!
