Life Lately

I can't believe it's been over two months since I've written on this blog. I have missed all of you guys and this space dearly, and I'll never be able to thank you enough for the kind words and support you all showed me during my time away. Again, I am hoping to share with you all my full story in time, but it's a deep, emotional story. It has a lot of twists and turns, and I am just not ready nor do I know how to truly tell it all fully right now.

Through all of this time and healing, I have realized that while my story is a huge part of my life, it doesn't define who I am as a whole. With all the bumps and bruises along the way, there has also been A LOT of joy, love, and happiness through it all.

// As most of you probably know, we lost our sweet fur baby of 14 years at the beginning of this year. It was so hard on all of us losing Rocky, but we knew it was his time to go and we all felt at peace when he left us. I believe that every animal has a purpose, and I have no doubt that Rocky more than filled his "dogs purpose" during his 14 years with our family. He was one loved dog, and one that our family will always love and will never forget.

// After taking our time grieving Rocky and listening to the kids ask non-stop when we were going to get a new dog, we finally caved and decided we would visit the Charleston Animal Society. Of course, we instantly fell in love with all of the dogs, but decided to bring this handsome boy "Butters" home. We were told going in that he was a stray, and that he had tested positive for heart worms, but after less than 24 hours with him, we could tell he was clearly much more sick than any of us knew. As of right now, he is back at the Charleston Animal Society with their vet hopefully getting the help he needs.

// I am trying to get back on the cooking train after a break from that as well, and much to my surprise, I actually miss it :) After not being able to fall asleep Monday night and being on Pinterest for over two hours, I found some awesome summer recipes! This one caught my eye because I LOVE black eyed peas, and plus, it also looked super easy!

And last up for today, here are a few recent outfits. I was so happy to to hear you guys say you missed my outfit posts, and that you wanted to see those again! I am about to make a big summer Amazon order, so hopefully I'll have that up next week on Instastories and on here as well.
