Life Lately

Hello ladies and happy Tuesday!!

I hope you guys all had a great weekend!  Our weekend was full of activities, but so much fun!!

On Friday, Todd and I hosted our "Halloween neighborhood supper club"!  Oh man, did we have a good time!  Everyone's costumes were so awesome, and by the end of the night everyone was dancing and laughing.

We even had the crazy men busting out a few dance moves, and let me tell you that was comical!

Todd's Sloth costume was so good, but the mask was really freaky in person and I couldn't take him serious at all with that thing on.

I got so many questions about these feta cheese covered olives, and let me just say, they were amazing!!  If you have a party coming up and need an appetizer, I highly recommend these!!

I also received a lot of messages about the cocktail I served and how I got the smoky affect.  I used this recipe for the our "champagne margarita" and it was SO good.  Warning, it's a strong one that will sneak up on you!  All I did to get the smoky affect was drop a small block of dry ice into the bottom of my drink container after I filled it with all the ingredients.

// It was chilly Saturday morning, so we bundled up on the golf cart and made a run to Starbucks for some much needed coffee and carbs!

// On Saturday evening, we had our annual Pumpkin walk in the neighborhood and we had a blast checking out all amazingly carved pumpkins!  Everyone was so creative and I wish I would've taken more pictures, but it was super crowded and keeping up with Taylor in the dark is one job I can't handle while multitasking...haha!

My poor girl was so sleepy after the pumpkin walk that she passed out on me while we were at dinner.  And if you guys have ever met my child you would know this is very rare, but I sure enjoyed it!

What I wore

I apologize for the blurry photo, but the sun was starting to go down and the lighting in our bedroom wasn't the best.

// We enjoyed our fire pit with S'mores on both Saturday and Sunday.  Nothing beats a warm outdoor fire this time of year!

// On Sunday, we had another fun day planned with the kids at the Charleston Brunch Festival!  The weather was perfect and the kids had a blast jumping on all the jump castles while running around with all of their friends.

My Outfit

// And last, I leave you with my current desk situation...ha!  And I know this is kind of personal, but if you guys have any natural remedies for horrible PMS I am in desperate need!!  Mine has always been pretty bad due to my adhd, but over last year my cramps, irritability, and moods are even worse! These oils definitely help, but I would love to hear of any vitamins or supplements that may help as well.

5 on Friday

Happy Friday friends, and cheers to the weekend!!

ONE //

I am so excited about tonight's party that I can hardly stand it!  I have all my supplies and most of my decorations already set up, but I will be running around like a crazy person all day grabbing booze and prepping food.  I'll try to post on Instastories as much as possible and I'll definitely make sure I get some good pictures of all the costumes...ha!

All Halloween decor is linked here.

TWO //

Speaking of running around like crazy, our family calendar is completely booked for the next five weeks!!  I feel like November and December are always busy, but this year is going to be nuts!  I have a baby shower for one of my oldest and dearest friends in Columbia next weekend.  The shower is on Sunday so I decided on a whim (aka on Wednesday) that we would all head to Columbia next Saturday with plans to take the kids to the Riverbanks Zoo and stay in this cool new hotel!  Have any of y'all ever heard of this hotel or ever stayed here?

I have to share what I ordered for the baby shower with you!!  I mean, where was this ADORABLE stuff when Carson and Taylor were babies?!?  Gosh, all we had were the ugly ass green hospital pacis, and of course, that's all both of our babies would take in the beginning...ha!  And this moms's emergency kit is one that is perfect to gift or to just order for all you mamas out there no matter how old your kids are!  We have one in my car and one in Todd's truck, and I cannot tell you how many times this thing has come in handy and saved us in a travel emergency!

Carson's preteen room is almost complete (I seriously deleted and rewrote this sentence four times).  It just seems impossible to me that in exactly three months Carson will be in the double digits...to me, he still is, and will always be my sweet little boy.

We're still waiting on his bedding and pillows to arrive along with a few new accessories, and then it will be officially complete!  You can find all his furniture, mirrors, rug, and lamps here.  And his wallpaper is found here

FOUR //

I stopped in Starbucks early Wednesday morning to grab a warm coffee with intentions to do a little work.  I had already eaten breakfast at home, but as usual, I was still starving...haha!!  So, I decided to give the healthiest breakfast sandwich on the menu a shot.  And y'all, holy slap your grandma batman, it was amazing!!  So next time you're in Starbucks and looking to eat your first or even second breakfast for the morning, make sure you order the reduced fat turkey bacon and cage free breakfast sandwich!!

FIVE //

And last thing, for all my fashion readers, here is this week's links to all my looks!

This and That

Hello friends, and happy hump day!!

It's been a while since I've filled you in on things going on around here, so I thought I would catch y'all up with a little of "This and That".

// Our house is officially spooked out and we are ready for Halloween along with hosting supper club this weekend!

The kids and I had way too much fun decorating our front door and fireplace with all these cool bats and spiders

// On Saturday, we finally took the kids to the pumpkin patch and we had the best time!  As you can see from the picture of our fireplace above, we ended up picking out a bunch of pumpkins.

The hayride is always our favorite, and how funny are those creeps - aka peeps :)

You can find my criss cross swing dress here along with size and fit information.  Clearly the kids and I forgot our sunglasses, so excuse our squinty eyes...ha!

// Charleston is finally having sweater weather, and I couldn't be more excited about the cooler temperatures rolling in!  Earlier last week, I wore this look and received so many compliments on this $36 twisted back sweater along with my $32 booties

(Cross-body is sold out - I found an almost identical one here)

// My new favorite Starbucks drink is the chai tea latte with only one pump of chai plus a shot of expresso!  I know that's kind of random, but a lot of you always ask what I order on Instastories :)

Also, my tunic blouse is on major sale and I actually found my exact leopard mules on sale here, and a here's dupe for only $23!

// My 3-ingredient crockpot chicken has received more dm messages than any recipe I've ever mentioned before...haha!!  I love that you guys are just like me and like to keep most things in the kitchen quick and easy!

Pollo Asado is from Trader Joe's and is quite possibly the best tasting chicken I've ever tasted.  All I did for this recipe is put the the frozen chicken in my crockpot, added one can of diced tomatoes, and half a box of chicken broth.  After that, I turned it on low for 10 hours and let it cook all day!

For our side, I roasted broccoli and mushrooms using this simple recipe.

For the kids, I served this chicken in a soft taco shell with cheese and I served it over cauliflower rice with our roasted vegetables on the side for Todd and I.  It was really delicious and super healthy, so I am calling this a dinner win for sure!

// And last, but not least, I wanted to mention that Carter's is having a huge online sale right now!  If you watched my stories yesterday you probably saw that I stacked up on winter clothes and a ton of pajamas for both Taylor and Carson.

I mean, how cute is this matching girl and doll set?!?  And you can't beat the $15 price tag for both pieces!!

Amazon Fashion Hunt - Hits and Misses

Happy Monday morning, friends!!!  I hope you all had a wonderful weekend, and hopefully most of you had some nice, cool fall weather like we did here in Charleston!  I'll be sharing more, as far as what we've been up to later this week along with some photos from our trip to the pumpkin patch.

Being that last month's Amazon hit and miss post was such a big hit, I thought I should kick Monday off right and get right down to all the good Amazon hits before the sizes are all gone.

Luckily, I only had a few misses this month along with a lot of really good, affordable fashion finds that are total hits!!

Clinch Waist Dress (majors sale 50% off) //

Dress runs tts, and for reference, I'm wearing a small.

I am so in love with this sweater!  It's the perfect weight and not itchy at all.  It runs big, and for sizing reference, I'm wearing an xs.

This dress is so lightweight and comfy, plus, it comes in four different fall colors!

This top runs big and I'm wearing an xs.  It's such a flattering cut and it comes in several other patterns.

Embroidered Dress // Wedges (on sale)

Dress runs tts, and for reference, I'm wearing a small.

Jacket runs tts, and for reference, I'm wearing a small.  I love the shape and the fit of this jacket.

Tanks and leggings both run tts, and for sizing reference, I'm wearing them in a small.

This brand runs big and I'm wearing an xs, which fits more like a small.

Blouse runs tts, and for reference, I'm wearing a small.

Here is the affordable version of the beloved tie knot henley.  This is such a flattering top, but a lot of you mentioned that you're having trouble tying it, so at some point today on Instastories, I'm going to try it on and show you guys;)

Henley fits tts and I'm wearing a small.

I know this top was included in last weeks post, but it's such a good one that I wanted to share it again!

Top runs big, and for sizing reference, I'm wearing an xs.

Dress runs tts, and for reference, I'm wearing an xs.

Pajamas run tts, and for sizing reference, I'm wearing a small.  Also, they shrink about an inch to an inch and a half after you wash and dry them, but they come out of the dryer wrinkle free and even softer!

V-Neck Bell Sleeve Shift Dress // Pumps (look for less here

Dress runs tts and I'm wearing a small, but it's a little on the shorter side.  I am 5'2" and it hits about two inches above my knee.

Tank and leggings both run tts, and I'm wearing a small in both.

Shirt and vest run tts, and I'm wearing the xs in both.  The jeans run small through the thighs and rearm, and for sizing reference, I'm wearing them in a size 26.

The first miss is this dress, and while the fit could have been so cute, but it was made out of cheap material, it had strings hanging, and the biggest loop holes for a belt...sadly, it was a no go!

And the next miss is this v-neck long sleeve top.  This one could have been SO good, but it was HUGE and the neck was SO low :(
