This and That

This past weekend was truly one of the best weekends we've had in a long time. We didn't do anything crazy exciting, but we had a lot of really good family time and the weather was amazing.

// On Friday, I started out on a good note with my favorite girl, Natalie, and we had a yummy lunch at Butcher and Bee. Y'all know I love a good burger, and I have to say, the burger at Butcher and Bee is in my top five, as far as best burger I've ever eaten.

What I wore
Dress (only$55) // Earrings // Sunglasses (on major sale) // Wedges

Dress runs large, and for reference, I'm wearing the xs.

// On Friday evening, we took the the kids to grill out with our neighbors. We stayed way too late laughing, porch sitting, and listening to music. It was such a fun night, and luckily the kids slept in on Saturday. Before we headed over there on Friday, I dropped by Whole Foods to pick up some wine and flowers. If you're local, you better stop by there...they have the most gorgeous peonies right now!

// Speaking of fresh flowers, Todd and I got all of our planters and the rest of our garden planted this weekend. It makes me so happy to go outside and look at all the pretty flowers, and I can't wait until some of our vegetables start blooming!

I had a lot of questions about all of our planters and our garden boxes. All of ours are from Grandinroad, but I found some very similar options for both here. Also, for those of you asking about our gas lanterns, you can find them here.

// On Saturday, Todd and I took the kids strawberry picking and we all had the BEST time. Both kids loved it, and we found so many big, beautiful strawberries!

// We came home with more strawberries than we knew what to do with, so we decided to make a strawberry cobbler and a homemade strawberry cake.

The cobbler tasted so good, but my crust ended up gummy :(  That being said, I'm guessing that I mixed the milk, sugar, and flour together a little too much.

Surprisingly, my strawberry cake turned out amazing even though I had to substitute sour cream for a small amount of Greek yogurt and whipped cream cheese. I mean, I'm not sure how good it would have tasted with the sour cream, but it was delicious with the substitutions!

// One of my favorite tanks ever is on sale for 30% off! I actually wore it this weekend with these same jean shorts :)

Swing Tank (30% off) // Shorts // Earrings // Sandals

Tank runs tts, and for reference, I'm wearing the xs.

// Sunday was another beautiful day, so we decided to take the kids out to lunch and pick up a few more herbs for our garden. Playa Taco has quickly become my new favorite Mexican spot in Charleston.

// Loft still has their big sale going on, but today is the last day to save the 40% + an additional 10% off along with free shipping. They have SO many cute new spring arrivals, and if you missed it, you can see my favorites right here

And this cover-up is on it's way to me right now!!

// Last, but not least, here are three Amazon fashion finds that you guys do not want to pass up!

Stripe Swing Tee (comes in a 2 pack for $24) // Shorts // Earrings

For tee sizing reference, I'm wearing these in a small.

Twist Front Keyhole Neckline One Piece Swimsuit

Swimsuit runs tts, and for reference, I'm wearing the small 4/6.

Dress run tts, and for reference, I'm wearing the xs.

5 on Friday

ONE //

Todd and I had date night last night and we ate at one of our new favorite restaurants, Ember. The weather was perfect so we decided to eat outside and enjoy the warm sunshine. Todd got the Boone Hall pizza and I made my own vegetable trio with mushrooms, roasted sweet potatoes, and brussel sprouts. Everything was so fresh and tasted amazing.

What I wore

Dress run tts, and for reference, I'm wearing the xs.

TWO //
I had a lot of dm messages on Instagram to share the recipe for this teriyaki sushi shrimp bowl. It's super easy, healthy, and taste so good.

I am having the best time watching this little guy and his team play baseball this year. They are at the age where they really get into the game, and it makes me so happy to see all their excited faces when they score a run.

FOUR //
It's been a while since I've read a good book, but I am so excited to dive back into reading this summer. I just ordered this book along with this one, so I'll make sure I share my thoughts on both of them when I'm finished. Nothing better than sitting poolside or on the beach with a good book.

Twist Front Bandeau (on sale in several colors) // Sunglasses // Similar Hat // Book

FIVE //

Truth :)

My Kitchen and Pantry Organization

Good morning friends, and happy almost Friday!!

Welcome to our newly organized kitchen! I cannot even begin to describe how good it feels to finally have a completely organized home. I  have suffered from ADD/ADHD my entire life, so I don't function well when things are cluttered and disorganized around me, but even if you don't suffer from ADD/ADHD, it's been proven that we as humans work better, feel better, and accomplish more when our homes are clean and organized. I recently read this article about the positive psycology behind organization, and it was fascinating to hear about all the ways we are affected by tidy and organized spaces we keep around us.

I cannot recommend this book enough to any of you who are wanting to get your home completely organized. And for help (and hopefully some inspiration), I will be breaking down each area of our home and sharing what products I used and exactly how I organized them.

Warning - there are a lot of pictures below, and I took all of them myself so they are nowhere near perfect or Pinterest worthy ;)
