5 On Friday + Bobbi Brown Giveaway!

// ONE

I have worn these mules daily since they arrived earlier this week! So, between wearing these and the caramel suede, I would say I am now a converted mule lover :)

Cardigan // Tee // Leggings similar and cheaper here // Leopard Mule

// TWO

This made week two of working out and eating healthy for me, and I must say, I already feel so much better!! I'm not sure why I let it happen, but almost every year I put on at least ten pounds at some point. I mentioned I had put on some weight on Instagram after some "sweeter reader" asked me when I was due...haha! This summer I ended up packing on a solid 13 pounds!!! I know it was from my lack of working out and poor eating habits, so I am focusing really hard to get back on track.

This has pretty much been my dinner and/or lunch for the past week. It is grilled bbq chicken, lettuce, bell pepper, purple onion, egg whites, and cucumber.

And for dressing I add one tbsp of this avocado cilantro greek yogurt dressing. It is so delicious and also much healthier than regular dressing.

The kiddos had a half day on Wednesday, so we met some friends for a little play date at Vintage and then we headed to the movies to see Lego Ninjago in 3-D!! This was Carson and Taylor's first 3-D movie and they both loved it. I have tried to talk them into going to see a few other movies in 3-D but neither of them ever wanted to go. I secretly think they were scared, but now that they've tried it I have a feeling 3-D movies will be all we go to from now on.

Handsome boys taking a rest break.

Please excuse the wild hair. Taylor got so hot and sweaty from running around outside before the movies. Needless to say, I didn't have a brush with me, but I think that happy smile more than makes up for her crazy hair :)

FOUR //

Today is the last day to take advantage of the Shopbop sale. Here are two dresses and a pair of pumps that I ordered and loved. I also ordered a sweater, along with a blouse that should be here today. I'll be sure to share those with you guys today on Instastories if they're cute.

You guys, this is such a cute dress, and I am obsessed with pairing it up with these pumps! These pumps look like a crossover between a pump and a bootie, and the sand suede is perfect for fall!

Dress // Pumps

This dress is adorable in person, but it runs BIG!! I'm wearing it in the small, but definitely need to re-order it in the extra-small. But it's super comfy, double lined, and has the cutest back. I also think the dress would look super cute on someone that's expecting as well!

FIVE //

Last, but not least, I had a chance to try out a few new products by Bobbi Brown and I seriously loved each and everyone of them. Bobbi Brown sent me an extra Downtown Cool Eye Palette and one extra crushed lip color in Baby, so I thought I would give these two things away to one of you guys! If you would like a chance to win these two products all you have to do is leave me a comment on this post. I'll pick a winner this weekend and announce them on Monday!

Loving every single thing about this chunky cable knit cardigan!

I am officially on the mule bandwagon, and I'm loving these leopard mules. And I'm also loving these if you are looking for a good neutral pair.

A nice pair of distressed denim is a must.

Love the size and color of this tote.
Give me all the comfy sweatshirt dresses please!

Super obsessed with the color and style of this sweater!

Can't beat a good classic leather watch for under $100!

This jacket was already such a great price, but you seriously can't beat getting is at the sale price.

Love these high waist ankle hem black jeans. They would look so good with almost any blouse or sweater this fall and winter.

I love the 'putty' color on these booties, along with the fact that the heel isn't too high. They would be great for everyday wear!

Easy Beef Stroganoff + Leg Lengthening Jeans

Hello loves and happy Tuesday! So, today's recipe isn't exactly healthy, but it was delicious so I had to share it with you guys. Growing up, Todd's favorite dish was beef stroganoff, and since it was his birthday I decided to surprise him by making it. I've never been a big fan of beef stroganoff, but that's probably because we always ate the good ol' Hamburger Helper kind and it always looked so disgusting to me. And for the record, I am not knocking Hamburger Helper because I straight up loved the cheeseburger macaroni...ha!

I want to note that even though this claims to be a one pot dish, I ended up using three! And this recipe makes a TON of food. Our neighbors came over for dinner the night I made this and we still had leftovers for two days! Also, I used this super easy green bean recipe for the side.

1 tablespoon olive oil
¾ lbs steak, cut into thin slices (I used flank)
salt and freshly cracked black pepper, to taste
1 tablespoon + 3 tablespoons all purpose flour, divided
1 cup cremini or white button mushrooms, sliced
1 small onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
3 tablespoons unsalted butter
3 tablespoons flour
3 1/2 cups reduced sodium beef broth (plus more as needed)
1-2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon dried thyme
6 ounces dried wide egg noodles
4 ounces cream cheese, softened (optional but recommended for an extra creamy sauce)
1/2 cup sour cream (I used full fat)
freshly chopped parsley, for garnish

  1. Season the steak salt, pepper and 1 tablespoon flour. Heat olive oil in a large (12 inch) skillet over medium high heat. Add the steak strips and let them cook undisturbed for 4-5 minutes so a brown crust forms. Add the mushrooms, onions and garlic and sauté until the onions are soft, about 4 minutes. Transfer the mixture to a large bowl or plate and set aside.
  2. Reduce the heat to medium and melt butter using the same pan. Whisk in 3 tablespoons of flour and cook the roux for 1-2 minutes. Slowly pour in the beef broth a little at a time while whisking continuously until smooth and thickened. Add the red wine vinegar, Worcestershire sauce and thyme. Scoop out 1/3 cup of the sauce and reserve to pour over the steak at the end.
  3. Bring the mixture to a boil and then pour in the noodles. Stir to coat and reduce the heat to medium-low. Cook for about 10-14 minutes, stirring occasionally, and if needed add in an extra 1/3 cup broth or more as needed.
  4. Once the noodles are al dente, add the cream cheese and sour cream and stir until smooth and combined. Season additionally with salt, black pepper and Worcestershire sauce as needed.
  5. Add the steak and onions back in the pan and drizzle reserved sauce over the steak. Cook until heated through, about 1-2 minutes. Serve hot in individual bowls and garnish with parsley and freshly black pepper if desired.
On another note, do yourself a favor and get these leg lengthening jeans and this adorable top for fall!
Oh, and the best part, these jeans run big so you get to size down and they make your legs look longer! #Icallthatawin.
Also, a few of you asked about the sizing of this top when I posted it yesterday on Instagram. I think it runs pretty tts, but I ordered the small because I wanted to make sure I had enough room to layer it if I wanted to. I love the way the model is wearing the burgundy one with a white tee underneath.

This and That

Happy Monday! I hope you all had a great weekend. Todd and I were kid free, but we were both so tired on Friday that we ended up ordering take-out and we were both in pj's by 7:30! Todd ended up falling asleep at 9pm so I decided to go with your recommendation and I started 'The Sinner'. It was so good that I stayed up until 3am and binge-watched all eight episodes! Thank goodness their were only eight, because otherwise, I would've probably pulled an all-nighter!

Cozy pj's, good tv, and a big glass of red wine = happiness.

// This past Thursday was Todd's birthday so I attempted to make him his favorite caramel cake from scratch for the first time. It was my first and last attempt, because while it actually turned out pretty tasty, it took me the entire day to make! And here's the recipe I used in case any of you wanted to give it a try.

// If there is one cardigan that you guys need in your closet this fall and winter it is this one. It's so soft and cozy, and it can be worn two different ways. It also comes in three different colors. It runs big, and for reference, I'm wearing the xs.

// This little fairy is already Halloween ready :) I'm pretty sure Halloween is their favorite holiday with the exception of Christmas. On Instagram, a lot of you asked where I found Taylor's costume and I actually found it at Home Goods in Mt. Pleasant.  I found a similar one here that is even cheaper than the one I bought.

// If you guys have been looking for the perfect sweater dress then look no further. This one is super soft and not itchy like so many of them, and it's also very flattering.

// And last, but not least, Todd and I finally tackled our garage! I went through at least 20 boxes and I sorted through and organized each one. It was SO bad y'all, I'm talking you couldn't even step foot in our garage much less walk around. And while it's not perfect, it's so much better!

10 Affordable Must-Haves For Fall

Early in the morning and late in the evenings I can feel the fall air and it makes me so happy! Things I love the most about fall are going to the pumpkin patch with the kids, the fair, s'mores by the fire, and of course all the cozy knits, jeans, and scarfs!

So today, I decided to round up my top 10 must-haves for fall. And because y'all know I don't like to break the bank when it comes to clothing, everything below is super affordable!

I actually have this cardigan in the cream color, so I can vouch for it being a good one. It does run super big though, so make sure you size down. You can't beat a cozy cardigan for under $50!

Love these ripped skinnies, and to top things off, they are the perfect length for anyone 5'4 and under!

I am on a total mule kick right now and I'm loving these nude leather ones! They are under $90 and they come in three different colors.

Nothing beats the smell of pumpkin filling your home in the fall. And out of all the pumpkin scented candles I've bought, this one is still my favorite.
This was the nail polish I had on last week that all of you guys were asking about on Instastories. It's the perfect fall gray.

I love a good nude lipstick in the fall and this set is awesome. I always like to add a little shine over my lipstick and both of these glosses are so good.

If you are looking for an affordable tote this fall, this one is a must. It's under $50 and it's reversible!

How pretty is this ivory cable knit dress?! And I think it would look so cute with booties or knee high boots.

This scarf reminds me of the Burberry scarf that retails for over $400, but this little beauty is a total steal for only $26!

Last, but not least, how gorgeous are these booties!! They come in four different colors and are under $100!!!
