What I'm wearing....Twist tee and yoga leggings

Happy Friday, loves!!

Being a bit on the shorter side (I am 5'2 btw) can sometimes make finding the perfect jeans or leggings a bit of a struggle. I finally found a pair of leggings that are perfect in fit and length. Say hello to my new friend, the midi legging by Zella

This twisty turn tee from Nordstrom is the cutest, most comfy tee ever. I love how it's a little bit longer in back.

And these Flyknit Nike shoes will make you feel like you are walking/running on air. They are super flexible and I love how comfy the mesh elastic is around my ankle.

This is one of those outfits that will be on repeat in and out of the gym!

And below are a few more of my "workout" favorites at Nordstrom!

Brain Dump - House Progress, Recent Outfits (and sizing info), and Trunk Show Information

My brain is all over the place these days, so I figured it's the perfect timing for a good ol' brain dump post :)

// Last week, we found out that our house will not be ready until mid-November. After a few tears and screaming at our builder, I feel much better! Haha...I'm totally kidding. Believe it or not, I actually handled the news really well, because let's be honest, I already had a feeling things would get pushed back. I keep reminding myself, "patience is the key to happiness" and it will all be worth it in the end. Now, if I could only figure out where to get some patience :)

On a happy note, a lot of tile was laid yesterday! I really wanted to wait and show you all some pictures when it's all grouted and clean, but you guys have requested some pictures so I figured it would be fun to document the process.

Carson's bathroom - Tile is Retro Hexagon by Daltile and grout will be platinum.

Master bath - Tile is Florentine porcelain tile in Carrara 12 x 24 and grout will be smoke gray.

Taylor's bath - tile is Octagon and dot ceramic mosaic tile and grout will be smoke gray as well.

// Here are a few recent purchases that have me ready for fall.

*Dress and boots run tts. For sizing reference, I am wearing a 6.5 in the boots and an xs in the dress.

Ribbed Cardigan // Tank // Jeans // Booties (on sale)

*Cardigan runs super big. I'm wearing the xs, but could have easily worn the xxs. I plan on exchanging it for that size.

V-neck Sweater (only $39) // Tank // Necklace // Jeans // Baseball Cap

 * Sweater runs large. I'm wearing the xs and have plenty of room. Depending on the way you want it to fit, you may want to size down!

// I've had this pleated hem sweater since last year and it's still one of my favorites...I just saw that they re-stocked it again this year! You can also see my post here for the full look.

// And last, I am co-hosting an event with some of my favorite blogger gals at Roberta Roller Rabbit
tomorrow evening from 6-8. I hope some of you will stop by for a drink, nibbles, and discounted shopping!

Fall Favorites - TV shows, Food, Fashion, etc....

I think Charleston was a little late getting the memo, as far as the first day of fall being last Thursday! Thankfully, it appears cooler temps are on the way starting at the end of this week. There are so many things to love about fall, so I thought I would share a few of my favorite things with you guys!

// Todd and I both look forward to fall TV. There are so many good shows that we both enjoy watching together. Here are some that I am so excited to and returning!

Ok, I'll be honest, Todd could care less about this show, but I still love it so he will usually suffer through it with me because he knows it's one of my favorites! And who else is still rooting for April and Jackson to get back together!? I think they are so good together.

You guys, if you haven't watched the Affair yet go now and catch up on the first two seasons. It's so good, yet twisted, it will suck you right in! Season three will start November 20th and I can't wait.

The season premiere just aired last Tuesday night, and Todd and I watched it on demand last night. And let's just say I have a feeling we are going to be hooked.

// Favorite Fall Scents

This candle isn't cheap, but it's totally worth the splurge! Your entire house will smell like the most amazing pumpkins and you will most likely refuse to blow it out.

I tried this candle for the first time last year and I loved it. It's still not as good as the Nest, but it's a close second and the price tag is a little better :)

// Favorite Fall Food

I did a post almost two years ago here on these delicious cookies and they are still a big favorite around here. If you haven't yet, make these asap!

Fall Chili - Nothing says fall like a big pot of homemade chili. And I've never tasted a chili I didn't love, but I am excited to try out something new in the kitchen this fall! Here are a few that have caught my eye, and I'll be sure to report back and let you know which one I decide to make!

// Fall Fashion Staples
Last, but not least, here are a few of my favorite fall fashion staples. If you haven't already, you need to get them in your closet!

Hands down the best pair of leggings you will ever purchase! I've been wearing these for almost three years now and I haven't yet found a pair that compare in comfort and quality! And for sizing reference, they run tts and I wear the xs-petite.

I am beyond obsessed with this brand since purchasing my circle cardigan! The material that they use feels like heaven on your skin and I love that their pieces can be worn lounging around the house or out and about.

I'm sure a lot of you already own a pair of these, but if not, I found a lot of them on sale for 30% off!!! These are a must have for fall, whether it's raining or not :) And don't forget your welly socks for when it gets cold! Also, these Coach rain boots were also just marked down 30% off...they have great reviews!

This and That + Vacuum Help!!

Happy Monday loves! I sure hope you all had a great weekend! Our's was lazy and laid back, and if I am being honest, these are always my favorite :)

// We made it to the movies on Friday and Saturday! Well, it was just Carson and I on Friday. He had a bad headache when he woke up Friday morning so I kept him home. By noon, he was miraculously feeling much better ;) So by that time, I decided to keep him home and just enjoy the day having some one on one time with him. We saw the movie, Pete's Dragon, and I may or may not have teared up three different times. It was truly a great movie. Then, on Saturday we met some friends of ours to see Storks. No tears while watching this one, but lots of laughs for sure. It was super cute and everyone really enjoyed it! So, if you have kids I highly recommend both of these movies.

// On Friday night, we had plans to meet our friends and their kiddos for a belated birthday celebration at the Screen Door, but on the way there it started POURING DOWN rain like crazy. And the main reason we chose this place was because of the fun outdoor area. Needless to say, when we arrived it was crowded inside and still raining outside, so we decided to head back to our house and order takeout. The kids had pizza and played for hours, while the adults enjoyed Thai takeout and the chance to talk without being it all worked out in the end. The temps were feeling pretty good Friday with a light, cool breeze before the rain, so I had on a what I like to call a little pre-fall outfit.

Sweater sold similar here and here // Jeans // Necklace // Bracelet // Booties (on sale)

And here is Sunday's look, which is also transitional and pre-fall :)

Tank also here // Jeans (on sale) // Similar open toe booties

// And speaking of outfits, I also wanted to let y'all know my favorite stripe tee from last year is back in stock!! It's such an awesome tee for ($19) and it goes with almost everything! This one is by the same brand and is also very similar!

// I've been on a roll with cooking over the last couple of weeks, and yesterday morning I decided to give these pumpkin pie cinnamon rolls a try! Holy Moly, melt in your mouth goodness! I mean, clearly I've got some work to do on the skill of making them look pretty, but trust me, they taste amazing!! If you love pumpkin, you need to make these asap.

And last, y'all...I need some help!!! This cute little pup and all his shedding hair have taken over our house. Rocky's hair is seriously out of control and it's everywhere. No joke, I swept and vacuumed four times yesterday!

All this to say that we are in need of a new vacuum, and I would love any recommendations you guys have! Ideally, I would love something cordless and lightweight if possible. We currently have the Dyson V6, and to put it nicely, it has been the biggest piece of crap ever. I've had to call Dyson over a dozen times about fixing it, and every time they send me a new part to fix the problem and then something else breaks on it! I'm sure they've probably done some work in tweaking all the problems with it since we bought our's back in 2012, but I'm not willing to spend this kind of money again and take that chance :) I also love the idea of a robotic vacuum that can just go on it's own. I have heard great things about the iRobot RommerILIFE V3s, and the bObsweep. Do any of you guys have one of these? If so, I would love to hear if you love it or not. Thanks in advance guys, and I hope you all have a wonderful Monday!

Five on Friday

ONE //
I can't remember if I've mentioned it or not, but I ended up going with mixed metals in our new kitchen. I went back and forth, but I finally decided that I really liked the look and character it brought to the room by mixing the brass and the chrome together. That being said, now I can't decide what kind of counter stools to use. I really want some with a touch of brass, but the only one's that I've found that I like are almost $500 apiece here and here !?!? So, if any of y'all come across any please let me know! And here are a few kitchens with mixed metals that I absolutely love, and that I used as inspiration.

TWO //
A few of you sent me messages on Instastories (which I love so much btw) asking me what I use on my eyelashes, so I thought I would share it here as well. For my everyday look, I usually use the Dior primer along with the Chubby lash mascara. For my nighttime look, I add the 3D fiber lashes by Mia Adora. This stuff is amazing, and it gives the most realistic long lashes ever. It comes with wet mascara (step 1) and the dry micro fibers (step 2), but I prefer to use my primer and mascara mentioned above with the micro fibers.

The weather around here is finally cooling off a little so we took full advantage this past Sunday and rode our bikes along the greenway. The views are so gorgeous on this trail that we ended up riding almost two miles without even realizing it.

 FOUR //
Last night, I headed out for dinner with two of my favorite girls, Natalie and Krystine. Our first stop was Harold's Cabin. It was super cute inside, and while the food was good, the portions were not very big. So we decided to head over to Zero George for a few more appetizers and one last cocktail. The bartender there was hilarious and he had all three of laughing so hard we were in tears.

What I wore

And last, Loft is having a sale right now where you can save 30% off of your entire purchase with the code SHOPSMART. While we were in Columbia last weekend for my niece and nephew's birthday, I was able to sneak in a little shopping and these were two my favorites from the Loft.

Loving Lately.....Cozy and comfy and all under $70!

I can't get enough of all the new fall arrivals that are popping up! And this fall I'm planning on rocking the comfy, cozy look as much a s possible! The pieces below are all under $70, and can be  dressed up or down. They are all super comfy and cozy!

Obsessed with this color for fall and loving that it's off the shoulder! And it also comes in two other gorgeous fall colors too!

I'll take this in all six colors please. And how cute are the buttons at the bottom?!

These leggings are thick and are perfect for a dressier top and heels or a cozy sweater and flats.

Comes in five colors and could easily be dressed up or down, but really, how gorgeous is this light pink color?!?

Finally found cream cable knit perfection and this one is only $55!

I am usually not the biggest fan of colored jeans, but I am making an exception for these. This olive green color will go with so many things for fall and I love the ripped knees.

This line is super affordable and every piece has amazing reviews. And this sweater and this cardigan are equally just as adorable as the one below!

They had me with the word 'terry' with these bad boys :)

Can you believe this cardigan is only $49!?!? It looks super cozy, and comes in three other colors. I can see myself tossing this on a lot this fall and winter.

These jeans are made of soft stretch cotton, and y'all know I am a big fan of the destroyed look. Also, you can't beat the under $60 price tag for a good pair of jeans!

// Also wanted to give you guys heads up, Tory Burch just started their fall event. When you spend $250 you can save 30% off with the code FALL16.
