Snippets from our weekend

Friday //

Friday started out with an amazing lunch and a glass or rose at Laura Alberts with one of my good friends.  If you ever go here to eat, I highly recommend the fried green tomato and pesto ham sandwich with a side of their sweet potato fries.  The sandwich is huge, so we always split this one when we go here.

After lunch, we took a peek at our house.  This is our master bedroom, and I gotta say, I think this is going to be my favorite room in the house.  The view from our back windows is going to be gorgeous once they remove all the shrubs, weeds, etc....eeeek, I am getting giddy just talking about it!

As soon as Todd got home from work (a little early) on Friday, we headed out on our tiki boat excursion with Hydroflynow

You guys, if you have never been hydroflying you really need to try it :) Todd and I both agreed that it was one of the coolest things we have ever experienced and we can't wait to do it again.

From the pictures it doesn't look as high as it feels when you are in the air, but trust me, when you are up there looking down it feels super high ;)

Getting up feels awesome and gives you this cool that I can't really explain.

On the other hand, going down........not so much a cool rush :)  But honestly, between the life jacket and the helmet, it doesn't really hurt at all when you fall.

Paddleboarding was also super fun once I got the hang of it.

At one point, I had to get on my knees and and paddle back because I ran right up in the marsh grass behind us. All I could think about was a big gator being in there and deciding to come out and eating me!!  I thought about jumping off the paddleboard and swimming back, but I didn't want the people on the tiki hut to think I was a total nutcase...ha!

Todd and I ended the evening with a bottle of wine while watching the sunset from the top of the tiki hut.  The view was breathtaking and the breeze from the top of the tiki hut felt amazing.

Lounging in the hammock they have aboard the hut.

Saturday //

On Saturday (after we spent the morning sleeping in), Todd and I headed out to go grab lunch and do a little shopping on King Street.

Lunch at Bay Street Biergarten was insanely good, and yes, I eat like a man on the weekends.  And yes, I pay for it come know, when the scales are tipping 10lbs up from your normal weight!!!!!!  But man it was good!

A few fun finds while shopping on King Street.

Off the Shoulder Blouse (runs big...I am wearing the xsp) //  White Skinny Jeans

After all the shopping fun we headed out to our friends second annual crabbing contest.  Todd and I did not participate in the crabbing, but it was still a blast.  I love these girls so much and always enjoy an evening hanging out and laughing.

And of course a kid fee evening with friends and this guy always make me smile :)

The views from the river house where the party was hosted at may have just been the most gorgeous views in Charleston.

And on the way out there, Todd and I stumbled upon our dream home.  I may or may not have walked all the way up their private driveway to snap this picture.

Sunday //

After we slept in way too late again (or at least I may have), we grabbed brunch, and once again, I made more bad eating decisions...ha!  So bad, but oh so good.  I mean, who can resist homemade blueberry pancakes.

After brunch, I convinced Todd to take me to the movies to see Bad Moms.  It was such a good movie and it had me laughing and crying the entire time.  And even though Todd probably wouldn't admit it, I think he enjoyed it as well :)

Saturday Steals and Deals

Happy Saturday, y'all!!  I am currently trying to talk myself into getting out of my pajamas and actually getting dressed!  The house is so quiet without the kids here, so a part of me wants to stay in my cozy pj's and watch movies all day with Todd :)

And speaking of cozy pajamas, you have to check out these pj pants!!  They are the softest, coziest pants ever.  They come in four different colors and they run tts.

Also, a few of the really popular items from the Nordstrom Anniversary sale have been restocked. This circle cardigan sold out the very first day, so when I saw it back in stock yesterday I made sure I grabbed it fast!

These jeans sold out super fast when the sale started, but they have now been re-stocked in all sizes!

This cardigan is not part of the anniversary sale, but it was just marked down 25% off!!

Everyones favorite one piece is marked super low in certain sizes on Amazon! I am talking $50 kinda low in this gorgeous red!

// Gigi New York - Summer Sale and the last weekend to save 60% off all their summer bags!

// Anthropologie- Take an additional 30% off of all sale items!

// Serena and Lily - Summer tent sale, save up to 70% off!

5 on Friday

ONE //
// Todd and I are kid free this weekend so we decided to celebrate our NINE year anniversary a little early this year.  Our anniversary falls right around the time Carson starts school, and since everything will be brand new for him this year, we decided we needed to stick around.  Tonight, we are going hydroflying, paddleboarding, and having a private picnic on a tiki hut.  I am so excited and I can't wait to tell y'all how hydroflying is, let's just pray I don't bust it!

TWO //
// I spent four hours at the dentist yesterday.  I was supposed to have a cavity filled and some bonding work done on my front teeth.  Well, the cavity was much deeper than the dentist thought and there's a chance I could have to have a root canal!!!  Thanks to the dental nitrous oxide I don't remember much of the drilling and all the needles to numb me up.  I have some horrible childhood memories of the dentist, including having my front tooth removed when I was eight while wide awake.  I'll save that story for another post, but let's just say you don't want to be my dentist unless you have me on a high dose of nitrous oxide!

// Thanks for all of your lantern help yesterday on Instagram!!!  Todd and I decided to do the more traditional style. I was actually really leaning towards the more modern looking one, but I loved them both and then Todd spoke up and said he liked the Charleston style better.  I can't wait to light these gorgeous lanterns in the evenings while sitting on our front porch with a nice glass of wine :)

Train Day Thursday

Happy almost Friday, ladies  :)

I know a few of you emailed me to let me know you really enjoyed my previous workout post and that you would like me to bring them back......ask and you shall receive, my friends :)

I'm pretty sure I've mentioned it before, but I have been training with Zach Conrad, the owner of Chucktown Fitness, for seven years now.  And even though I don't talk about fitness on this blog as much as I used to, it's still a huge part of my life.  So together, Zach and I are planning to bring you guys a new workout twice a month.
I am super excited to share what I do in the gym.  I am keeping my fingers crossed that this will also help to hold me accountable and also help me clean up my diet up a bit.  Diet has always been a struggle for me, but I find the more I get my booty in the gym, the healthier I tend to eat.

And if any of my local readers are looking for a new gym, I can't recommend Chucktown Fitness enough!  They have the best group classes around and all of their personal trainers are truly amazing!

Back and Legs - Do everything below 3 times
*Reverse Lunges - 12 reps on each leg with 30 lb bar
* 12 TRX jump squats
* 12 TRX single arm pulls on each arm
* Plank position pushups on 25 lb medicine ball
*60 lbs assisted pullups for 12 reps
