Thoughts on Thursday

We have had a relaxed back spring break around here.  It has really been nice not having to wake the kids up and rush around.

On Tuesday, we packed up and headed to the beach with some friends.  Even though it was too cold to get in the water, the kids had a blast just playing in the sand and building sand castles.

And reverse sand angels of course :)

We have also let Carson stay up way past his bedtime almost every night!  Last night we all watched Free Willy and we may have let Carson stay in the bed with us for the night ;)  As a kid, I can remember getting so excited if my parents ever let me stay up late and sleep in their bed.

We sent Todd this picture at work yesterday, and he actually thought Carson had passed out and was napping :) Haha...not a chance, but clearly, he's a good faker!

I have another home design meeting this morning and I am planning on picking out the rest of our floors.  I can't wait to show you guys what I have picked out for Carson's bathroom.  I think it's going to look so gorgeous with his gray cabinets.  I am also leaning towards putting wallpaper in our powder bath and possibly Taylor's bathroom.  Below are some of the designs I am considering!

I have been living in soft, comfy toss-on dresses this week.  I know I mentioned last week that these are my favorite dresses, so I had to grab it when I saw it in the stripes!  I promise it's $34 well spent!

And that's about all I've got for you today!  Hope you all have a wonderful Thursday!

Loving Lately for Spring

I can't believe the first day of April is in two days!  That being said, it does actually feel like summer is right around the corner here in Charleston!  But trust me, I'm not complaining...I love the warm weather.  Listed below are a few of my favorite warm weather items I am hoping to add to my closet!

I love the cut of this swimsuit so much! It's just like my Mara Hoffman I wore here. And the colors in this one are gorgeous! Also majorly crushing on this one with the same cut and style!

Run, don't walk, and get this maxi dress!!! I can't believe they brought this dress back and that they are offering it in three different colors this time!! This is, and probably always be, one of my favorite dresses ever. You can see how I wore it last year here

Wedges are some of my favorite shoes to wear during the spring and summer. These are so simple, yet so stunning! And I also found a cheaper version of these right here

Dare I say this is Mara Hoffman's best print yet!?!? And I am loving it in this romper and this swimsuit!

Such a beautiful cross-body bag, and this looks way more expensive than the price tag that comes with it! This bag would go with any and everything this spring and summer!

I am not sure if you guys remember this cover-up from Victoria's secret last year, but I found this one that looks identical for a fraction of the price!!  And this one is another look-a-like for less than $24!!

Life Lately....

We had a wonderful Easter filled with family time, a wonderful sermon, and lots of Easter egg hunts! My grandmother still comes every year to spoil the kids a bit and she fills all the plastic eggs with money for the kids.  I am talking $5, $10, and even $20 bills inside the eggs!

We try to tell her every year that this is way too much money, but she insists.  She LOVES watching them open the eggs and gets so excited watching their faces!  We explained to Carson that this was not 'the norm', and that when mom and dad were little, all we got as kids were real eggs and maybe two prize eggs with quarters...ha!

After counting up their findings and eating Easter lunch, we headed out to the farm to see Todd's parents and got in another Easter egg hunt just before the rain started.

Me and my three favorites just before we headed out to church with my brother and his family.

The sweet cousins after church (and Taylor with her biggest smile:).

On Sunday evening, after eating dinner with Todd's parents we let Carson have his first sleepover with us down at the cabin.  We let him stay up way past his bedtime, told him old stories about when dad lived at the cabin, and watched movies until we all feel asleep.  I could tell he was excited to get some time just the three of us, and he was so happy waking up on "the farm".

After the three of use ate breakfast at the cabin, we headed up to Todd's parents to pick up Taylor so she and Carson could feed the animals!  They love feeding and petting all the donkeys.  And I must say, while are pretty cute, I still get freaked out every time I feed them!  They are so sweet and use their lips to grab the food, but seeing their big teeth always makes me jump a little...haha!

We had the BEST time Friday night with one of my best friends, Mariah, and her family!  My heart literally hurts every time I have to tell her goodbye.  I still remember like it was yesterday, the day she moved, and the two of us hugging goodbye in a big puddle of tears.  But no matter how long it's been since we've last seen each other, the moment we are together again, it's like never skipped a beat.  There are not many people that come along as special as she is, and I know that we will be close friends forever, no matter how far the distance in miles are between us.

Carson is getting really into baseball and he wants to practice all the time.  I know this makes Todd the happiest dad in the world!  Not sure if I've ever told y'all before, but baseball was Todd's life growing up and for pretty much the first 20+ years of his life.  He started playing when he was four and played on up through college.  So I know it makes him so happy and proud seeing Carson love it just as much as he did and still does.

Here's a cute little video I took of them playing catching yesterday evening.

And last, a few of you asked about my tan in this picture!  It's all fake, as I try to make sure I apply plenty of sunscreen these days!  It's the same Clarins gel sunless tanner that I used last year and still love so much!  You can also get it here

What I am wearing.....and for reference, the Stacey blouse runs slightly smaller than the Elsa.  Size up one from your normal size in the Elsa.

Thoughts on Friday

Happy Good Friday everyone, and also, happy Easter weekend!  Todd and I are heading back home on Saturday, so the Easter bunny will be delivering the baskets there instead of the house ;)  We were actually on our A-game this year and we did all of our bunny shopping a couple of weeks ago.

I am extra excited about today because one of my best friends in the world is in town for a visit!  I haven't seen her in almost three years.  She left Charleston six years ago to move back to New Jersey.  I can't even express how much I miss this girl...she was like my girl soulmate.

Speaking of bestie, Natalie, turned another year younger yesterday :)  We all went out Wednesday night to the new restaurant The Darling Oyster bar!  The food was amazing and so were the drinks!  We had so much fun, possibly a little too much, because yesterday was a little rough if you know what I mean...haha!

I wore my new Escapada maxi dress and I am slightly obsessed with it.  It's so lightweight and the new spring patterns are gorgeous!

For sizing reference, this dress runs a little generous, but you can adjust it with the ties in the back and the tie around the waist.  I am wearing the xs.

I know y'all are probably already tired of hearing about home design, but I am just so excited about these pendants that arrived yesterday!!!!  They are even more stunning in person.  I can't wait to see them hung up!!

Warm Charleston days = lots of comfy cotton dresses!  As I mentioned on Tuesday, this one is only $35 and comes in six different colors!!  And how cute is it paired with the palm print clutch and fun tassel earrings!

Cute comfy dresses all under $50!!!

I am so excited that the heat and sunshine decided to make its way here early this year! This means it's time to bust out most beloved item of the season..... comfy little toss on dresses! So today I wanted to share with you guys some of my favorite picks under $50!

You all know how much I love a good maxi dress and this one is so cute and can't be beat at $48! And I love this bra to wear with all my dresses like these!

This one looks so comfy, and I love how it's longer in the front and back.

Loving the blue pattern and the crochet top!

This is by far one of my favorite dresses! I love that it can be dressed up or down and still look adorable either way! Plus it comes in 10 colors!!

For sizing reference, this dress runs tts and I am wearing xs. Though I do suggest if you are taller than 5'4 to size up one for the length!

I was so excited to see that they restocked this dress again this year!! Another dress that looks cute on any figure!

For sizing reference it runs tts and I am wearing an xs.

Obsessed with the colors in this dress, and that gorgeous crochet neckline!

This dress is probably the most worn dress in my closet. And I am so happy to see it back this year and in 6 colors! They also have it in stripes here!! Lets just say it's a $34.00 well spent :)

For sizing reference this dress runs tts, but again if you are taller than 5'4 I would go one size up for length. I am wearing ths xs.
