Cheers to a new Year

Can you guys believe it's about to be 2015?!?!? Where did this past year go?? 2014 has been such a wonderful year and I am actually a little sad to see it go. That being said, I am also really excited about some fun changes in 2015, especially with this blog!

* I am planning to bring back my workouts! I think we are all a little guilty of letting it go this time of year, and when I say letting it go, I mean the time we spend in the gym and the things we stuff our faces with. In the past, when I shared my workouts with you guys it helped me stay accountable and I actually found myself enjoying the workouts more! Training day is coming back!!

* I can't wait to cook more this year and share any amazing recipes I may find with you guys. Now that our kitchen remodel is complete I am finding myself wanting to be in there more and more, plus Carson is really into helping me and we've been having so much fun baking together. Be on the lookout for healthy recipes too :) This year I am making it my goal to cook at least one NEW healthy meal a week and I can't wait to hear what you guys think!

* I am also really excited about a new series I am planning called "wine talk". As much as I would love to grab a cup of coffee and chat with you girls, I think we would have much more fun together with a nice big glass of wine and wine talk we shall have. I am planning on dishing it all :) The blog world can be painted as such a perfect picture, when in reality, it's not always like that. So this will be a time where you can come and kick back (hopefully with a glass of wine, unless it's morning;) and we can talk about real life, be totally honest with each other, and hopefully laugh until we cry!

* I still plan to share fashion and my favorite outfits with you guys! Getting dressed up and throwing on a fancy pair of heels makes me insanely happy. I cant wait to see all the new fashion trends for the spring, it is truly is my favorite time of the year. I have a feeling I will be adding many more maxi dresses to my collection. You all know my love for the maxi dress and I don't think that will ever change :)

As we say goodbye to 2014 I want to say a BIG THANK YOU to all of you!! Your support, comments,  and emails mean more to me than you could ever imagine! Thank y'all for making this little space so fun for me and my family! Until next year my loves!!

Here's to hoping your dress stays below your waist and not over your head tonight! Haha!!

Kate Spade Saturday!!

I have always been a HUGE fan of Kate Spade, but I seem to somehow always overlook Kate Spade Saturday. After browsing their site today and their prices I will be checking back on the regular now!! Some one please get this dress!!!! It's on sale with an additional 25% off, if I had somewhere to wear it, it would be mine!!  Use code SALEAWAY to save!

Chocolate Sugar Cookies.............

I am so excited about this fun new series!! We've decided to make Sundays our day to get in the kitchen and get messy! Daddy is home to watch our sweet princess tornado so Carson and I have no distractions.

This week we decided on Chocolate Sugar Cookies! I found this recipe from the blog Chocolate chocolate and more chocolate, so if chocolate is your thing you need to check this blog out ;)

These cookies were really good, but my consistency looked nothing like the ones from her blog. Not sure what step I missed or if maybe I didn't measure correctly, but either way, they were still yummy! Mine came out more like a cake batter texture and they actually reminded me of a devil's food cookie. Plus, we did add a little powdered sugar to make ours look pretty and taste a little sweeter! If you look closely at them you can tell they needed the extra loving. Ha!

He LOVES mixing the batter and turning the speed up really high! Ha, maybe that's why our consistency was off ;)

And with fun, there's always messes. He wanted to pour the vanilla and he spilled a little. Thank goodness it wasn't over the bowl. Could you imagine the taste of that?!

Watch out ladies, this kid's going to be one heck of a baker!

I hope you guys will join along in our 5 weeks of baking because I am so excited to see which cookie was everyone's favorite!

** My sweater is available here . And don't forget Kate Spade  is also offering an additional 25% off all sale!  This bag is simply amazing, and you can't beat the price!!

Hodge Podge

Wow, is it just me or does it not seem like today is Monday? I feel like it should still be the weekend. I guess we all got a little spoiled around here with daddy having five days off work! Sleeping in and having coffee brought to me in bed is something I could get use to everyday. Ha!

Speaking of sleeping in, Victoria's Secret is having their semi annual sale and all of their pajamas are included! I will be ordering these today!

* Christmas was really magical this year and watching it through our kids eyes made it even more special! Santa came to my parents this year. It was so fun being there on Christmas morning as Carson and Taylor woke up to all there presents.

Carson and Taylor had so much fun with their cousins. I so wish they lived closer.

* Carson and Taylor's favorite gift was definitely their craft table! They have been painting and coloring nonstop over here!

* Thanks to my mother-in-law I finally have the Skinny Taste cookbook!!! I have heard wonderful things about this book and I can't wait to try a few recipes out! Speaking of recipes, tomorrow I am sharing the first recipe of my new series '5 Weeks of the Perfect Cookie'! After this is over I thought it would be fun to a start another series with healthy recipes. I know in the new year we will all be trying to eat healthier, right??! Somehow this winter I've managed to put on 7 lbs and that just ain't cool ;)

Shopbop is having a CRAZY good sale right now!! So many goodies I want to toss in my cart. Here are just a few: Oh and this black vest  is perfection, and it should arrive on my doorstep today!!!

* I pretty much lived in this outfit all last week. This scarf is unbelievably soft you guys!

Scarf  // shirt similar  // jeans similar

* Because we probably won't see snow around here this year we improvise! Snow bubbles are just as fun right?

* Yesterday the weather in Charleston was crazy warm. I am talking sunny and 75!! This had me dreaming of maxi dresses and sandals. This one just arrived at Nordstrom and I am thinking of ordering now in fear it may sell out! Aren't the colors gorgeous!?! Oh how I love summer!!

Okay, I do believe that is enough randomness for one day!

Easy Entertaining tips.....

Let me start this off by saying I am no expert on entertaining, but it seems that I do it pretty often so I feel like I do have a few a few tricks up my sleeve.

Y'all know I get overwhelmed pretty easily so I try to do everything I can ahead of time, that way when the time comes for the party, supper club, or just a little get together, I can actually partake in the wine sipping and conversation instead of running around like a crazy person.

I recently hosted our monthly girls supper club at my house, and as usual, we had a blast. To me, a get together at someone's house can be much more fun than a restaurant. I don't know, there's just a calm about pouring your own wine, talking as loud as you want too, and going back for seconds if you didn't quite get full. Yes, I am guilty of this! Hey, these girls are like my sisters, they know I love to eat :)

Here are a few things that help me avoid feeling so overwhelmed the day of the event. Most of you probably already do these things, but just in case, I thought I would share.

1. Make a list - I always write down everything I need, from the appetizer to the flowers on the table. I usually make my run to get everything at least two days before the party.

2. Chill all your wine or champagne the night before.

3. Prepare any and all of your food that you can the night before.

4. Never stress over the dessert :) By the time dessert comes most people are getting full and feeling pretty good :) I always pick up my favorite cake from Publix, cupcakes from Sugar, or something from one of my personal favorites, Glazed.  It's one less thing for me to worry about.

5. Have fun!! Enjoy the time with your friends and don't stress about everything being perfect!

A special thanks to Gloria Ferrer for making my night a little easier.

5 on Friday..........

 ONE //
I am in LOVE with Camille Styles and her new book! I ordered it last week and I haven't been able to put in down. She is so inspiring and I love that she tells you how to make the smallest things so special! If you don't already have the book I highly recommend you order it! And remember, if you have Amazon Prime you get your order in two days!

Carson and I have been having so much fun baking together that I've decided to start a fun new series on the blog. It will start after the holidays of course, and I am going to call it five weeks of the perfect cookie! So for five weeks, Carson and I will bake a new cookie recipe each week. None of these will be my own, but don't worry, I am going to search high and low for some yummy ones! I would love for you guys to cook along with us, and at the end, we can all vote on our favorite cookie. I've decided for fun to let Carson and Todd be the judge at our house :) Can you tell I am excited about this!?

We had Carson's Christmas program last night at his school. His class sang 'Santa Claus is coming to town' and it was adorable. I can not believe how grown up my baby boy is now. I am so unbelievably proud of him and the kind hearted, funny, and loving boy he has become.

FOUR //
I have never loved a jacket as much as love this one!!! The inside feels like silk fleece (if you can even imagine that). I am actually wearing mine right now and it feels like I am wrapped in a warm blanket, not to mention, the style of the jacket is super flattering!

FIVE //
Keeping with my love for plaid, I do believe I have found the perfect scarf!! I love that it's green plaid and not red like all the other ones that are floating around right now! Also, Shopbop now has Amazon Prime, so you are guaranteed this scarf in two days!
