Checking In + Outfit Roundup and everything under $70

First off, I want to say thank you to everyone that sent me messages and wished me well this week. I've never been this sick in my entire life, and your kind words meant a lot.

I know a lot of you were wondering what was wrong with me, so here's the short story. I woke up Sunday in the mountains, and I wasn't feeling 100 percent. Once we got in the car to head home I became very nauseated, but I just chalked that up to the fact we were going down winding roads.

On Sunday night when we got home, Carson and I were both running a fever and had the chills, but his throat hurt while mine didn't at all. I was also super nauseated and he wasn't, so I figured we both had something different.

By Monday morning, I was doubled over in pain, running a pretty high fever and every part of my body was sore. Carson was running a high fever and crying that his throat was hurting him badly. I wanted to be seen by OBGYN with whatever I had, because  I felt like it was something bladder related.

Todd took Carson up to an urgent care first thing in the morning because his pediatrician couldn't see him until 3pm. At that point, we found out that he had the flu :( By the time they got back home I was much worse, and we had not heard back from the OBGYN. So then, my super-husband made another trip and dropped me off at Doctor's Care.

I knew it would be a long wait since there were 15 people in front of me so I asked him to take Carson home so he could rest, and that I would be fine by myself, but would call him to come get me as I was finishing up. I'm so glad I did because I waited for almost two hours in their waiting room.

By the time the doctor could see me I could barely move and I knew something serious was going on with my body. After I told him my symptoms, he wanted to do the flu test and get a urine sample from me. The flu test was negative, but he explained that I had a very severe kidney infection. He wanted me to start antibiotics immediately, but unfortunately, by the time we filled the prescription I wasn't able to keep the antibiotics down. I ended up vomiting the rest of that day and into the night.

I woke up at five in the morning on Tuesday and I was in so much pain especially in my stomach. Todd called the emergency number for my OBGYN and they suggested that I come in right when the doors opened or to go to the emergency room. I wanted to avoid the emergency room because I didn't want Taylor and Carson to have to go in there, and I also didn't want to risk Carson getting any worse.

Somehow I made until 8:30, but I looked like I was on my death bed, and I'm not exaggerating at all. When I told my OBGYN the symptoms she wanted me have an ultrasound because she said she thought it could be an ovarian cyst. She was right, there was one...but not just one, there were two "very large" (as she described) ovarian cysts and one had ruptured. She said there was a lot of fluid that had leaked out, and along with that, my right ovary was twisted around my left one.

Now, after dealing with this all week, I'm finally feeling better. Sorry this was so dang long y'all, but I didn't really know of any other way to explain everything that was going on. Luckily, Carson was feeling MUCH better by Tuesday afternoon, which was a huge relief. There is nothing worse that your child being sick, and you being too sick to cuddle and care for him. But major fist pumps and hugs to Todd who took such great care of us both all week.

And because I still feel a little loopy, and being creative isn't happening right now, I thought I would share some of my recent outfits with you guys. I know a lot of you come here just to shop, so sorry if I put you to sleep with all the info :)

5 on Friday

ONE //

Todd and I are heading out on anther mountain trip today, but this time there will be no kids! We are going with 16 of our oldest and closest friends to celebrate the 40th birthday of one of Todd's closest friends. I'm so excited to see everyone and stay up way too late laughing and telling old stories.

This is a picture of the cabin that we are staying in...aren't the views amazing!

TWO //

We're trying to get the outdoor space of our new house looking good. Our backyard is laid out a little funky, so we have a landscape architect coming out next week to help us. Here's a little peek at the small deck out back.

And here's another little peek at our backyard sitting area. Thanks to Grandinroad, I think both of these spaces are going to look amazing when we are finished!

THREE //

You guys know by now how much I LOVE maxi dresses, and I knew when I spotted this one I had to have it. I can't even begin to describe how gorgeous the embroidery detail is on this dress. And the bottom part is lined, so you don't have to worry about it being see through. For sizing reference, it runs tts and I'm wearing the xs.

// FOUR

If you're looking for a really smooth Pinot Noir, I highly recommend this one.

And if you're looking for a new pair of pajamas, I strongly recommend these :) They're made by my favorite brand, Nordstrom lingerie, and they are super lightweight and soft. For sizing reference, I went with a small because I like my pajamas a little on the looser side.

FIVE //

And last, but not least, my new favorite gadget in the house! Meet my new best friend, the iRobot Roomba 650. This thing will change your life, I promise. I have mine set to run each morning, and when I return home our floors are clean and it's sitting back on it's dock! It's truly one of the best purchases I've ever made.

Last Night's Looks On Instastories (All Under $55)

Hello friends! If any of you ladies watched my Instastories last night, then you know I attempted to do a little "try on and review" for a few new dresses that just arrived.  And I actually had two more, but I couldn't bare to make y'all listen to my voice or watch more videos of me all in one night..haha! If you ladies found this helpful at all, shoot me a message on Instagram and I'll try to do it again the next time I place a big order.

If you didn't watch my Insastories or don't use the liketoknowit app, here are all the details!

Runs tts and I'm wearing the xs. I am 5'2 and would need to wear 3 to 4 inch heels with this dress, but I would not need to get it hemmed. It's completely lined, and it comes in a beautiful navy color as well.

Runs a little on the big side, and it's loose up top. I ordered the small, but should have went with the xs. So, if you are between sizes I would size down. The bottom half is lined, so it's not see through at all. And I was really blown away at the quality and beautiful embroidered detail for only $45! Oh yeah, and it also comes in a pretty pink color as well.

I am so glad I ordered this dress, because I wasn't sure how it would fit looking at the model online. I was so happy when I put it on...it wasn't near as boxy as it looked online. The shoulders, however, are a little snug, but not uncomfortably snug. I think it will help definitely help it from sliding down. And for reference, I'm wearing the xs.

Snippets around the house (sources included)

Good morning ladies, and happy hump day!

Recently on Instastories, I've been getting a lot of house questions, and many of you have asked if I would share the sources on my blog. So today, I wanted to give you guys a little peek at a few of the rooms along with the sources to the pieces I get asked about the most.

We are still far from having our house completely decorated, but a lot of the bigger pieces are in so it makes me feel settled for now. Eventually, I would love to add in more art, accessories, and possibly even wallpaper to a few rooms. That being said, these things take time so I want to make sure that I'm choosing pieces and things I really love.

This and That

This past week (and weekend) were super busy. Hosting supper club, fashion week, and birthday parties kept me on my toes for sure!

// On Thursday, I hosted supper club here at the house. I decided to be ambitious and cook everything gluten free, and actually do it all myself. And while everything tasted pretty good, it was hard to get the timing right for the sides and the main dish.

And of course I was so busy running around that I didn't take one darn picture of the food :(  But here is what I made, along with a link to each recipe I used.

What I wore

// On Friday morning, I headed to Drybar to get my hair fixed up for fashion week. I didn't do anything too fancy though, just a few loose curls.

What I wore

Top (on sale) // Military Jacket similar // Jeans
Tote // Flats similar  // Earrings

Before my girlfriends and I headed to fashion week we stopped in The Dewbury for a drink and quick bite. I ordered the gnocchi, and while it looked good, it was really bland and had a strange texture.

My Dress (only $89)  // Sandals // Earrings

// On Saturday morning, I took both kids to get haircuts, while Todd worked on putting our outdoor furniture together. Taylor just got a little trim, but Carson was in desperate need of a good cut. He has the best hair and it grows so fast. #nofair

Later that evening, Todd and I headed out to celebrate a friend's birthday on a harbor cruise.

What I wore

It was such a fun night, and after a few drinks I didn't even mind the freezing cold wind ;)

Blue Maxi

Good morning, and happy Monday pretty ladies!! Daylight savings is still kicking my butt, and getting out of the bed this morning was a huge struggle! Either way, I've signed myself up for classes at the gym for four mornings this week, mainly so I would make myself get it together and go...ha!

This midi dress (which is actually a maxi) on me is the perfect toss-on dress. This is my favorite type of dress, and I find myself grabbing one out of my closet all the time. The material on this dress is super soft, and while it's low cut, it doesn't show too much. And for those of you that are curious, I'm wearing my favorite sticky bra with it. As far as sizing goes, it runs tts with lots of stretch , and I'm wearing the small.

And since there aren't many sizes left in my particular dress, I've included a few more by the same brand in a similar cut.
