Clean Eating

True confession: eating clean is so freaking hard for me, sometimes I would say it's torture. My appetite is comparable to a dudes, and I could literally eat burgers, fries, and a coke everyday. That being said, I know that eating eating clean is the right thing to do, and the only thing to do if I plan to wear a bikini this year ;) Okay I just had to get that off my chest!

Last week I made the teriyaki chicken bowl, and my goodness the sauce. It was amazing, and pretty darn simple. Still not sure how healthy it actually was, but when something taste that good, you don't question it, you just eat it!

{Now if only I would have grabbed the right noodles. I could only find rice sticks and thought what the hey, I am sure they are about the same thing. Um, yeah not so much. They were not terrible and actually tasted delicious the next day cold. But I highly recommend you try and find rice noodles, I think they would be much better}.

Southwestern Pinto Bean Burger
If I cant have a "real one" this one looks pretty darn good!

Homemade Spice-A-Rita
Technically not a "meal" but definitely a summer staple. Probably my most favorite drink ever!

I can't even believe all the pretty stuff they have this year! I will most definitely be grabbing up a few things this morning! Some of the "select few" items are even 50% off!

If you need some help deciding, I've highlighted a few of my favorites!

  2. That looks so yummy! We've been working hard at eating clean for a little over a year (with the except of chocolate). We have noticed that not when we eat things we used to love we feel soooo sick. Our tastes have changed so much. It has really influenced how our boys have started eating as well. Keep up the good work!!

  3. My pregnancy appetite is no joke...I find it best when I am able to start the day clean...with a protein berry smoothie or something. It keeps me fuller longer and I'm less likely to snack mindlessly at work until lunch time. Then of course, just keeping to a menu plan for dinners...I posted some of my go-to snacks on my fitness blog yesterday!

  10. Eating clean really is sooo hard... I could eat nachos and chocolate all day long! I tried the teriyaki chicken bowl too and used the rice noodles. I found them in the ethnic food section at target. I thought the recipe was great too, and the sauce was not low-cal or whatever -- it was too good. I would use different noodles next time because the rice noodles were plasticy and never softened!
