Guest Bedroom Tour of Homes

This is the view from the guest bedroom porch that over looks our back yard and the pond!

This is by far my favorite room in the house!!! To say that it was a labor of love would be an understatement! All of the furniture that you see in this room was my childhood furniture, and before it was a rich cherry wood. After a long three days of sanding, priming, and painting this is how it turned out, and I just love it!! Anytime I see a piece of furniture that looks like it has potential, I say to the hubs we can just paint it, and I get a not so pleasant look back ha!OK, I cant wait to see all of your beautiful guest rooms!

Yummy Easy Appetizers........

Last night it was our night to cook for small group, and being that I am throwing a Halloween party Friday, and Carsons class party Friday, I went for simple! These three things are so easy and so delicious! the only thing that was time consuming was the cream cheese icing, but it was so worth it, I promise!

Easy  Pumpkin Cupcakes

1 package (18.25 oz.) spice cake mix

1 can (15 oz.) LIBBY'S® 100% Pure Pumpkin

3 large eggs

1/3 cup vegetable oil

1/3 cup water

Cream cheese Icing

Ingredients

2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened 1/2 cup butter, softened 2 cups sifted confectioners' sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions

In a medium bowl, cream together the cream cheese and butter until creamy. Mix in the vanilla, then gradually stir in the confectioners' sugar. Store in the refrigerator after use.

Corn and Black bean Salsa

1 (14 ounce) can Rotel Tomatoes

1 (14 ounce) can black beans, drained and rinsed

1 (10 ounce) can white shoepeg corn, drained and rinsed

1 bunch green onion, chopped

Taco Dip

This recipe is from my MIL, in a handmade cookbook she made me for Christmas 2 years ago.

1lb Ground beef rinsed and drained with a pack of taco seasoning ( I usually use 1 1/2 packs)

Re fried beans

salsa ( you can use any kind you like)

Cheese ( I use the shredded 3 cheese Mexican) I use the whole two cup bag on mine, very cheesy!!

Spread the bottom of your dish with the re fried beans then add taco meat, on top of that put your salsa, then your bag of cheese.

Put in the oven on 350* and bake for 20 minutes or until cheese is melted!

And there you have 3 easy Delicious appetizers!

To Carve or not to Carve?

Your pumpkin that is! We choose not to carve this year, and use the all so cute PBK build-a-pumpkin-set! I think they turned out really cute, and they were also really easy! Plus Carson loves them :)

Mamas kind of clothes!

Now that fall is here , and the cooler temperatures are slowly starting to appear, I am pulling out the lounge wear! I know that some lounge wear is just not cute, but I think they have come a long way! I am really loving the leggings with the over sized sweat shirt, and the jeggings with the tunics! Yes Maam, I plan on living in these all fall and winter! The only outings I really take anymore are Carsons to MMO out, errands, and the Monday grocery shopping, so I think thee clothes will be just perfect! So what do you ladies think do you love the lounge wear, or do you like the polished look more?

Home Tour Kids Room

This is by far one of my favorite rooms in our home. The funny thing is the design and color of this room are very far from what I would normally go for. My mom convinced me that babies need color, so color we did. This rooms fits Carsons personality so well, so besides for my love of all white I am glad I went with color for his room! I cant wait to see all your beautiful kids rooms!

little monkeys walk in closet, which I love!

Weight Loss and Yummy Healthy Turkey Chili!

First I would like to start this post off my saying I have lost 11 lbs and 3 1/2 inches on my waist! I am feeling so good, and I am really enjoying the results. A special thanks to my awesome Nutritionists, and my rock star trainer! Now with that being said I still have 12 more lbs to loose to get to my goal weight of 115, and don't worry when I get there I will post pics :)

Any who I have been cooking dinner every night for the past two months and this turkey chili is our Thursday night staple! we are not hard to please(with food I may add) and my husband and I are both creatures of habit, so the same thing every week does not bother us :) It is so yummy and so easy!

What you will need........... I love the publix chili powder by the way, but you can use which ever you like!
Dice up you bell pepper, half and onion, and 2 garlic cloves

Throw in your turkey, bell peppers, and onions and cook all together.
 Drain your meat and veg's!
You don't have to drain and rinse your beans, but I do just to lower the sodium.
I put my garlic in last, because burnt garlic is NO good! I also add a can full of water to my chili to make it a little soupier. Ta Da there it is easy turkey Healthy chili Enjoy!

Mimi comes to town

This past weekend my mom came and spent the night with us. Carson was over the moon excited to see his Mimi, he gave her the biggest smile when he saw her. My mom and I had such a great time together. We are so much alike and yet so completely different! We only almost killed each other once or twice ha! Even though we can bump heads like know other she is my mom and I would not trade her for anything in the world. She was such a trooper, she got to town Friday morning early and went to the gym and trained with me! Seriously the women is a rock star, she is 49 and I am pretty sure she has not worked out in 30 years, and she killed it at the gym. Let me just also throw in there my mom doesn't eat very healthy and is a size 2!!!! So not fair!! We had a nice lunch after our workout, some shopping, and a funny movie Friday night! Saturday we took Carson the the Aquarium, and he had the best time all smiles all day! We had so much fun with you Mimi and cant wait for you to come back again soon!!!!!
